What a mess. Guns in schools and people shouting from the telly.
And what can we do about what really matters -about starvation, sickness,
eliminating third world debt, the rise of neo-fascism- about our own
bigotry? Action must be taken. This is not as easy as just flipping
the channel. Passive consumers of a culture obese with their own
self-satisfaction. Learn pain and learn true pleasure.
Brothers Billy and Gabe Riggs from the Louisville, KY area, formed
this guitar based entity in 2000 after frustration in other unions, to work find
a new sound and bring rock back into prevalence. They played with various
other bands for many different event until combining their skills in Two
Leptra. For a succinct list of some
of them visit the Gigography.
Some influences include: Radiohead; Sting; Oasis; OLP; U2; Led Zepplin; Nirvana;
Bush; Paul Winter Consort; even Miles Davis. Billy was quoted as
saying, "We make GOOD music..." but others have compared their sound
to The Verve or Collective Soul.

And the woman
sat
staring at the folded hands in her lap. She gritted he teeth and gave a sigh hoping to swallow
the fear that plagued her malnourished body. Feeling every
breath, she looked up at the overly plump priest for solace. She found
none as he bantered from his pulpit. The coins she had saved
all week were a lead
weight in her pocket. She knew it would be a terrible sacrifice to give up so much of her wages...
It didn't make sense. It was impractical. The rich didn't give that
much yet they had money to spare. They had fancy cloths and fake smiles
that gave way to empty black souls and lying tongues. She didn't trust or
like them that much, but on the other hand, she had nothing to hold against them. They did not know
her life of how she struggled to make ends meet. She thought of the meals
her family had missed for the sake of these two lepta. Those rich
men did not understand the joy she received from sneaking all of her coins into the
money jar by the door as
she passed. It took everything but it meant everything for her to give out
of what she didn't even have. No one ever saw, and it made her feel special. She
looked over at her beautiful daughter next to her on the bench. If only
the could see the way she smiles, she thought. If only they could peer on
her beaming eyes. She was simple and happy and would give the world for
her mothers love.. If only the bigoted and pompously plump friars, could
see life through those childlike eyes. She never found solace in the way
they talked on and on loving each rancid, hollow, honeysuckle word. Yet one look into
His eyes gave her all the answers she needed. She found solace as He
stared at her with compassion. It was why
she had given all she had for so many years.... her two lepta.... Mark 12:41-44
